Natalia Grace Adoptive Family

Natalia Grace was adopted by an American couple, Michael and Kristine Barnett, in 2010.  She has a rare form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED), which affects her growth and bone development.

However, her adoptive parents claimed she was actually an adult pretending to be a child.

In 2013, they moved to Canada, leaving Natalia behind in an apartment in Indiana, and were later charged with neglect of a dependent.

Natalia was later adopted by Antwon and Cynthia Mans, who are a Christian couple from Indiana with five other children. 

The Man’s family met Natalia through their church and decided to take her in as their daughter. They firmly believed that Natalia was a child and had no doubts about her age or identity.
