Coming Out As Gay: Jim Rash’s Story
On National Coming Out Day, October 12, 2018, the Downhill co-director came out as gay. On occasion, he posted a photo of himself on Instagram, along with a lengthy caption that described his coming-out story six years ago.
He hinted in the caption that the photos taken six years ago are from a time in his life when he “began being more honest, freer, and happier.” That explains why he accepted himself as gay six years before the post, in 2012. He said that he felt it was the right time to share his story with everyone and that he had no regrets about “not coming out earlier.”
Furthermore, Rash is proud of who he is and recognizes that it has given him more freedom than ever. He is also a supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and a regular attendee of the Los Angeles Pride Parade.
