He is best known for his hit singles "Venus" and "Why" and for his roles in the films Beach Party, Muscle Beach Party, and Bikini Beach. Avalon began his career as a singer in the 1950s, and released his first single, "De De Dinah", in 1958. He went on to have a successful career as a singer, releasing several hit singles and albums. He also starred in a number of films, including Beach Party, Muscle Beach Party, and Bikini Beach. Avalon has been married twice, first to Kathryn Diebel from 1960 to 1975, and then to Kaydie Karkos from 1976 to present. He has four children, two from each marriage.
